Who Is Alex?
I have applied my knowledge of sport and occupational psychology to teams in private and public sector organisations and professional sport teams/athletes. I am able to cross pollinate my experiences and knowledge from both domains to create and implement solutions that are compelling and useful.
My background includes completing a MA and a MCom in America and South Africa, respectively. My journey into occupational psychology began in a South African gold mine following Nelson Mandela’s release from prison.
Amongst other things, I thoroughly enjoy engaging participants in “The art of listening and constructing questions that create new possibilities” and “Mobilising diversity”. I also enjoy adding value by carrying out group or team-based supervision, which becomes a forum to role-play specific solution-focused techniques. Encouraging participants to create and consider options and think things through, mobilising effort to achieve desired objectives, fuels my desire to add value.
Having studied and worked in a range of cultural settings including the USA, South Africa, Zambia and currently in the UK, I believe my usefulness will be evident when you hire me to collaboratively create and implement solutions.
